Data retention
Closive keeps the normalized context needed to follow through while your account is active. It avoids duplicate source copies and deletes the whole profile when you ask.
Effective 26 August 2026
What is kept
- Normalized Google evidence — the readable mail, calendar, attachment and exact linked-file context Closive uses — is kept while your account is active.
- Your durable Closive state — Work, Priorities, Memory, Routines, chat transcripts, prepared drafts, corrections and receipts — is kept while your account is active.
- Your Google authorization is kept until you disconnect Google or delete the account.
What is not kept
The live Closive profile does not retain a second lossless copy of raw Google API responses after it creates the normalized evidence used by the product. An older recovery copy may contain the prior state until that copy expires. Voice audio uploaded for transcription is not stored by Closive after transcription; the resulting text becomes part of chat history.
Short-lived operational data
- Web sessions last up to 30 days. Signing out revokes one immediately.
- Application logs are currently retained for 7 days by our hosting provider. Closive does not intentionally log mail bodies, file contents, model prompts, OAuth tokens or secrets.
- Recovery backups are used only to restore the service. Account data is removed from remaining recovery copies within 90 days of account deletion.
Your choices
Signing out does not stop background sync. You may disconnect Google while keeping your Closive history, or delete the account and all of its durable state. Email manpreet@closive.ai from the address on your account. We will make the account inaccessible, complete the deletion and confirm it to you.
